Balboa Press History

Balboa Press is a division of Hay House that was established in 2010 in the United States of America, the United Kingdom, the Commonwealth of Australia and New Zealand.

By starting Balboa Press, Hay House founder Louise Hay opened the door for more authors to publish books that make a difference in our world. Due to the competitive nature of the publishing industry, only a select number of titles can be supported each year through the Hay House's traditional model. However, with the launch of Balboa Press, more and more authors are empowered to reach their goals of having their books published.

Louise Hay is perhaps the most respected self help publisher in the world. She is known as the ‘Mother of Inspiration’ and a pioneer of the self-help movement. All her titles are, in fact, self-published.

In 1987, Louise Hay expanded the Hay House imprint into a more traditional publishing company. Today, Hay House is one of the fastest-growing self-help and transformational publishers established in more than 35 countries around the world. Hay House publishes the works of international bestselling authors including Diane Ladd,  Ben Stein, Suze Orman, Carnie Wilson, Sylvia Browne, Montel Williams, Wayne Dyer, Deepak Chopra and Tavis Smiley. What began as a small venture in her living room has turned into a prosperous corporation that has sold millions of books worldwide.
